"Money in the Bank" occurred this past Sunday and it has done much to get the general wrestling audience talking. After all, fans want to see who may be next in line to win a championship and careers will undoubtedly benefit from such a boost as well. That being said, is it possible that a debt agency could have ties to this show? I think that this may be the case, especially if you take the time to look at some of the smaller details of both entities.
For those who are unfamiliar with this particular show, allow me to give you a summary. Basically, "Money in the Bank" involves a ladder match where a series of competitors attempt to secure a briefcase from above the ring. What this briefcase holds is a contract to a WWE or World Heavyweight Championship match of their choosing. Considering that this can occur at just about any instance, it can very well be described as the golden ticket of WWE and there may not be a comparison more fitting.
Of course, there have been instances where the holders of the briefcase did not exactly get what they wanted. For example, John Cena stands as the first and only person to ever cash in and fail to win the title in his match. An early instance would be Ken Kennedy, who won the briefcase back in 2007 but lost it not long after. Once he was goaded into a match against Edge, with the briefcase on the line, he lost the opportunity of a lifetime before being sidelined for a short period of time.
I don't think that you need me to tell you that a debt agency is able to perform great work. This has been the case for agencies the likes of Rapid Recovery and such work does not show any signs of fading. With that said, I think that it's fair to assume that wrestlers with such opportunities in their possession would be approached by authority figures in the world of wrestling. It doesn't matter what the situation would call for but I think that, if collateral was needed, the contract could fit the bill.
"Money in the Bank" calls for opportunities and only a select few stars are able to scale the ladder and secure what could help their careers in the long run. When it comes to career boosts, I do not think that there are any which are as big as this one. I think that it's a matter of picking the right moment, though, before cashing in. Many stars have been able to show how calculating they are before they swoop in so that the championships rest in their hands.
