Drop Shipping Sources

By Amanda Tan

Many folks make use of drop shippers to deal with the supply and cargo of their products. Drop shipping is very common among eBay and other online stores as it allows store owners to supply many alternative products to their customers while not having to stress about storing, packing, and shipping them.

Drop shipping allows retailers to sell products one at a time from factory supplier to their customers and then the wholesaler ships your order directly to your customer. Most dropshipping sources will ship your clients order in plain packaging that includes your business name and information. Often dropshipping companies will even print your symbol on your customer's packages so it appears that their order came directly from your company. Most dropshipping sources do a good job of hiding the fact that you employed a drop-shipping company and your buyer won't ever know the difference. After your purchaser places an order and pays for the product and shipping, you pay your drop shipper the wholesale price plus shipping and keep the difference as profit.

The main advantage of dropshipping is that you don't need to store, package, or ship products yourself. This advantage is particularly great for people who run a small business at home and do not have the space to store a large amount of stock. It is also good for people with bigger businesses but who can't afford to hire or purchase warehouse space to keep additional stock in. Drop shipping permits you to spend more time developing, marketing, and improving your business rather than packaging and shipping out orders.

While drop shipping does save you significant time and storage space, it also cost more than if you purchased your products right from the wholesaler. Drop shippers usually charge a bit more per product or add an additional fee on to drop shipped orders. Sometimes the savings of time and storage space are worth the additional price and other times they don't seem to be. You'll have to research the additional price of dropshipping matched against the amount of time and space you may save to work out if drop shipping is the finest choice for your business. If you choose to drop ship and not store any product, you will also only be well placed to sell the products that your drop shipper offers which may limit you in product selections. Drop-shipping may be the best choice for your business but it is important to consider all the aspects of employing a drop shipping company before deciding to use one to see if it is the best choice for you.

If you do decide to go with a drop shipper, your next challenge is finding one with products you're interested in selling, one with a good reputation, and one with the best prices. There are 1 or 2 major drop shipping companies that many people use, and while these companies usually have decent reputes the market is saturated with their products. It is best to do some searching to discover a drop shipper that offers products that aren't already circulating widely.
