Several Tips To Maximize Results Of Postcard Advertising

By Stephen Wallace

Postcards are rectangular thin cardboard or thick paper meant for writing and mailing without envelope and can either require stamps on them or have printed ones already on it. There are novelty postcards made from materials not usually used for this. These cards normally have images printed which could either be tourist destinations, vehicles, portraits, buildings and paintings while there are also blank ones.

There are various reasons for sending this instead of normal letters, aside from being a cheaper alternative, like showing the receiver where you are currently sending it from. Another is for business to market their products and services using postcard advertising and mailing it to people. Here are several tips to maximize their effectiveness to produce sales leads or increase website traffic.

Make sure this goes to prospects who may be interested with your offer and had historically acted on these offers they liked. Example is to send it to individuals who requested details about products and services that is similar to what you are offering. These lists can be acquired through most brokers of mailing lists.

Design your postcard to look like it came from a friend with a message for you and not a magazine ad which is printed on it. This might make the readers react with pleasant emotions when the card looks friendly instead of the usual harsh reactions they have for advertisements. Doing this can boost the number of replies.

Do not use the postcards to close sales because there is not enough space for giving all the needed information to make such decision. Use it instead to generate inquiries with brief mentions of major benefits they can get from the offers you have. Motivate them then to ask for further information by printing your website or contact number.

Because postcards are delivered without envelopes so their messages can be read directly and most people cannot avoid in doing so. Grab this advantage by getting to the point directly and capture their attention immediately with your message. Make it easy to read and brief so they would still be read even when the person just glances on it.

Send them using first class mailing services as these are just a few cents higher than standard ones if it fits the required size. Their delivery will be prioritized over other classes which means they would arrive faster to your intended receivers. This also has the chance of producing more replies from your target customers.

Send them to arrive during Tuesdays or Wednesdays because these days have lighter volume of mails usually than other days. This means less competition for your postcards from those that were also delivered that same day. Avoid having it arrive at Mondays because for most people, this day is the busiest.

Avoid spending too much on designs and prints as colorful and elegant designs are expensive unless you are offering these services. Those simple designs could just be made with your computer and print them yourself. Be sure these tips are followed to increase your market presence.
