By offering opportunities for your blog to be broadcast to friends and family, you will drive your follower base up drastically.

If you use Twitter as your only means of promoting your blog on social sites, then you should try using Facebook. Facebook is an extremely powerful networking tool that millions of people use all around the world. Some users of Facebook do not use Twitter, so using Facebook, along with Twitter, can prove to be extremely beneficial to your blog.

Read other blogs in related fields. This will give you an idea of how others are blogging successfully, and may give you ideas on how to improve your own blog. You may also find people willing to guest blog on your site. Remember not to plagiarize the content of other blogs.
