Learning About The Marvel Action Figures

By Alta Alexander

Adult males are not ashamed of their great toy collections which are displayed within their homes. They all know that marvel action figures are quite popular and they are also worth a great deal of cash. For years people have been trying to find super hero dolls which came dressed in cloth costumes. Fortunately these items can easily be found over the internet. Someone who loves Stan Lee will try to purchase all of his great characters from the past and present. Mr. Lee is a smart man who knew how to create great role models.

"The Invisible Girl" has been a part of the Stan Lee universe for quite a long time and she is very beautiful. Mego created an eight inch doll of this character back in the 70's and she is now worth a ton of money. Her face sculpture is very unique since her eyes seem to glow in the dark. Her blue outfit looks very similar to the one within the comic books.

Later on many other toy companies tried to copy this particular female hero but their statues were not as good. Mattel even tried to make one of their Barbie dolls look like the Invisible Girl. Unfortunately the doll was not unique in any way at all since she was just another Barbie doll dressed in a blue outfit. Luckily true toy collectors avoided this doll.

Luckily fans everywhere can now watch "Iron Man" in a live action movie which was created in Hollywood. These same fans may also have their very own Iron Man doll that was produced in the 70's by Mego. Even though the Mego creation of Iron Man is not that great he is still a collector's dream.

The true fans had always wanted to own an Iron Man doll which also showed his alter ego Tony Stark. Fortunately Toy Biz was able to grant their wish by making a Tony doll with an additional face. The newer doll is really not that great and has many issues.

Reed Richards is the leader of the "Fantastic Four" and he is one hell of a good looking man. Mego was glad to make a statue of this particular character which is also very valuable in today's society. Reed and Sue Storm are a unique couple who share a child together. Whenever they put on their blue outfits they become "Mr. Fantastic" and the "Invisible Girl."

In order to promote their products Mego produced several commercials which introduced all of their super heroes. Many fans will notice that the DC characters were very common and did not display the same style as their rival comic book characters.

Last but not least everyone who is a true collector tries to get every statue which resembled the great "Thor." This is one God who looks very handsome in every possible way. Fortunately Mego was smart enough to give him long rooted hair instead of a plastic head. The Invisible Girl, Thor and Conan were the only figures from Stan Lee which had realistic hair. The later versions of Thor were also created by Toy Biz and they do not have real hair. Many toy companies have now become cheaper when they create these popular figures. Nowadays retailers do not care about the quality of these dolls.
