Marvel Action Figures Are Great

By Enid Hinton

Comic book fans go crazy whenever someone mentions "Thor, " "Captain America, " "The Invisible Woman, " "Spiderman, " "Mr. Fantastic, " "Storm, " "Conan" or the "Human Torch." They all know that these are some of the best marvel action figures that can be found around the entire globe.

Stan Lee knew he had a winner when he created "The Invisible Woman." Sue Storm is one of the members of the super team called "The Fantastic Four, " and the Mego toy company first introduced her likeness in a doll back in the 70's. This figure was eight inches tall and she came with removable cloth clothing. Many people did not purchase this statue when it was first created.

Unfortunately all of the little boys only wanted the boy dolls that were available and little girl preferred Barbie dolls over super heroes. Susan Storm was left alone in the toy store and eventually she was discontinued. Nowadays those same little boys are now grown men who would kill to have this particular statue.

Susan Storm has a husband named Reed and many people know that he has great stretching abilities. They call him "Mr. Fantastic" since his powers are quite unique. Mego was wise to produce this statue and he is a also a top seller on today's toy market. Besides "Thor" Reed Richards is one of the best looking male dolls that was produced by this company.

Mego did not give the same care to their super hero women that were part of the DC line. Anyone around knows that all of their female characters look the same and only have different hair colors. In a way they were trying to save money when these statues were first produced and therefore they used the exact face over and over.

"Conan" came out around the same time as the "Fantastic Four" statues. Hollywood went on to produce several movies about this character but the latest one was a huge flop. When "Conan" was first introduced he had long hair and later on Mego decided to give him shorter locks. "Classic TV Toys" has decided to remake this doll for the people who cannot afford the original item that was produced years ago.

Decades ago Mego put more quality into their products since they thought very highly of their fans. The only dolls which failed the quality test were the super hero women from DC. Overall the bodies on these dolls are great since they seem to last for a lifetime. Anyone who has seen the movie "The Avengers" is already looking to purchase a "Thor" statue made by Mego.

Fortunately Mego also went ahead to produce "The Thing" and "The Human Torch" from the "Fantastic Four" series. The group would not be complete without these two unique characters. Many fans wish that they would have made the Torch's alter ego who is known as Johnny Storm. Some of the companies around today are making this particular item in order to please fans.
